About the photographer

My name is Jos de Oliveira and I live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Actually I have started with amateur photography when I was quite young, but through circumstances I stopped doing it. Then my interest was drawn to the world of computers.
Apparently blood is thicker than water because throughout the years I was drawn more and more to the world of digital image-editing and graphic-design. At a given moment I was more occupied with the designing of cd covers, front-pages, etc. rather then doing other really "important" stuff on the computer. The rise of digital photography interested me more and more so I decided to take on photography again. After many mind goggles and wallet sweep I bought the Nikon D70 in December 2004. I am extremely pleased with it but I have noticed that I need time to handle it properly.

The current site has arisen from my interest in everything that has to do with "digital" and "computers" and my passion for photography.

As a hobby photographer I am mainly occupied with what is indicated as the registering photography, with a focus on nature and city photography. Portrait photography does not have my preference at this moment. I believe that the reason for it lies within the fact that I find this part of photography in fact the most difficult one.
